Remote Job Description Summary

The virtual tech assistant role is to support Mercatura School of Technology to bring tech course training remotely to Nigerians by reducing tech Illiteracy in the country as only 7% of Nigerian youths have ICT skills needed for working and living in a digital economy according to UNICEF.

This role includes assisting students by campaigning for the Tech City, Tech Savvy and Tech Sisters free tech training through registering students in various tech courses for Mercatura School of Technology, assisting students all through their training process and much more.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manage administrative tasks:
Provide administrative support including student data entry, email management & preparing documents.
2. Assist coordinate students schedule:
Assist in reminding students on their learning, assignments, exercises, projects & exam
3. Handle phone calls:
Call prospective students to register in courses, follow up on students and more.
4. Assist in students registration and research:
Research about MST tech courses and use it to register students and grow the brand.
5. Support customer service:
Respond to students & prospective students enquiries, understand MST training method and enlighten students.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Educational Qualification: Degree holder
2. Skilled in the use of Asana
3. Skilled in the use of Google Workspace including Google classroom
4. Minimum of 1year virtual assistant experience

Tech Volunteer Remote Job

Job Description Summary

The Tech Volunteer will work remotely from any part of the country to support MST Technology training campaigns daily, weekly and monthly through the enrolment of students and much more.
The Tech Volunteer will gain hands-on experience in data entry, virtual training, and project management, while ensuring responsiveness to students and prospective students needs.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Support technology development in the country through online enlightenment and registration of students
2. Expose the public especially the youths on the importance of learning tech skills by explaining various tech courses under the MST learning programs.
3. Work with tech professionals across various sectors to boost digital literacy across the country for sustainable development and job creation.
4. Provide basic support to prospective students either via email, WhatsApp and any other productivity tools (e.g., Slack, Google Meet & Trello).
5. Organise your daily weekly and monthly tech tasks using Trello and manage various tech projects assigned to you.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Tech Officer attached to you.

Qualifications

1. OND / HND / BSc Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or experienced in working remotely).
2. Be part of the onboarding test in the entry stage of the Tech Volunteer position and contribute in the ongoing MST tech campaigns via student registrations.
3. Basic understanding of the internet, Trello, Google tools and computer.
4. Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Ability to read, comprehend, assimilate, understand and communicate.
6. Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic tech environment.
7. Good reputation in working remotely and delivery of tasks as at when due without supervision.

All applicants undergoes a compulsory probation test process where they register students into MST.
